Introduction
Nous rapportons les résultats d’une enquête descriptive des résidents de 240 établissements d’hébergement pour personnes âgées.
Méthode
Les médecins ont renseigné 4 920 résidents.
Résultats
Les résidents (73,9 % de femmes, 61,9 ± 14,8 kg) sont âgés de 85,7 ± 8,8 ans. Le score ADL est de 2,8 ± 2,1; 43,5 % sont déments; 19,6 % ont des troubles psychocomportementaux; 27,4 % sont traités par neuroleptiques; 4,1 % ont chuté dans la semaine; 37,9 % souffrent; 19,8 % perdent du poids.
Conclusion
Cette enquête témoigne des spécificités de la population vivant en institution.
Abstract
Introduction
We report the results of a descriptive study of residents in 240 nursing homes.
Method
Geriatricians of the nursing homes described 4,920 residents.
Results
Residents (73.9 % women, 61.9 ± 14.8 kg) were 85.7 ± 8.8 years old. ADL score was 2.8 ± 2.1; 43.5 % were demented; 19.6 % had behaviour disturbances; 27.4 % were treated with neuroleptics; 4.1 % had fallen during the week; 37.9 % suffered pain; 19.8 % were losing weight.
Conclusion
This enquiry highlights the specificity of the nursing home population.
