Definition

The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF & CC) Green Skill Development Program (GSDP) is a skill development effort in the environment and forest sector to help India’s young find meaningful work and/or self-employment. The importance of green skilling is crucial for making a transition from energy and emissions – intensive economy to cleaner and greener production and service patterns. It also educates people about green employment that helps to preserve or restore the environment’s quality while also increasing human well-being and social equality. The Union Environment Ministry has started the Green Skill Development Program (GSDP), which intends to train over 5.5 lakh people in the environment and forest sectors through 30 courses.
