Abstract
This chapter introduces readers to the importance of formulating a good research question. This is a central first step within the development of any research project. The reasons for this are discussed. Frameworks, which may be of help in creating a viable research question, are described. Practical considerations, which may impact on research, are considered, together with examples of possible lines of research enquiry. The role of research hypotheses, aims, and objectives, which may be developed once a research question has been identified, is discussed.
