In the concluding segment, we discuss the surgical result, which resulted in a favourable outcome, and the two-year follow up with stable disease without further treatment.

Video Transcript

Post-operative MRI showed near total removal of the tumor. Histology confirmed as pilocytic astrocytoma. The patient did not develop any post-operative motor or memory deficit. A thin residual adherent to tela choroidea remained stable at two year follow up and did not require further treatment. The child follows a normal school and with a very good result. Here we can see the post-operative MRI with the callosotomy, the opening of the choroid fissure, and the small remnant adherent to the posterior part of the third ventricle. Here you can see with the axial contrast injection the subtotal removal of the tumor with the callosotomy. And we can see also on the sagittal T2 section, the very, very small remnant adherent to the posterior part of the third ventricle and that so far did not require any further treatment.
