Video Transcript

The first step to Apple Watch development is downloading the right tools. What you want to do is you want to go to developer.apple.com. Once you’re on their web page, you can see that there are a variety of options for development and SDK downloads, but what we want to do is we want to get the Xcode development tool.

So if you head over to the Development tab, click on it, and if you click Xcode right on the top, you should be presented with an option to download Xcode. Now all you have to do is go in the top right hand corner, click Download, and you should see all the downloads available for Xcode. Now I recommend scrolling past the beta section and scrolling to the release software.

At the time of this video, the latest Xcode software is 10.1, but you should download whatever the latest software that is available. So now, you can click Download and it will prompt you to download the Xcode development software. Keep in mind that this is actually a pretty large file size so it may take some time to download.
