Learn everything you need to know to get started with Azure web apps, including deployment, key features, and benefits, to monitoring. This video introduces you to Azure App Service, and more specifically, Azure web apps. Starting from a base deployment of an Azure-running web site, you will learn about several cloud-native features of the service. These are key in allowing you to run highly available and production-ready web applications on Azure, without the underlying web server virtual machines. You will also learn about integration with Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code, to ease the overall deployment and management of such web apps from a development and sysadmin perspective.
What You Will Learn
Understand Azure web app core features and functionalities
Deploy scalable and high-available web apps across regions
Leverage Azure web app scaling features
Publish web applications from Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code
Run highly available web apps across multiple Azure regions
Use Azure Monitor for monitoring and troubleshooting Azure web apps
Who This Video Is For
Developers who want a brief introduction to the value and uses of Azure web apps.

Welcome in this Apress video covering deploying and migrating to Azure Web Apps. My name is Peter DeTender. I’m the CEO of 007 FFF Learning Company based out of Belgium that’s focused on providing Azure readiness and architect services to Microsoft partners and customers all over the world.
I’ve been working with Azure for almost six years now. Besides creating courseware for different publishers and delivering the virtual and in-person trainings, I spend quite a lot of my free time writing technical articles or even full books on Azure topics. I’m an Azure MVP and a Microsoft Certified Trainer. And if you should have any questions, feel free to reach out on social media or send me an email, Peter@pdtit.be.
So most important is what we will cover in this video series. To keep it structured, we have the following sections defined. I’m going to start with an Introduction to Azure Application Services followed by an Overview of Azure Web Apps, specifically. Next, we’re going to move over to an actual deployment of a fresh, empty Azure Web App application and pushing out code using Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code as two examples.
And once we have the web application up and running, I’m going to cover scalability and high availability of the running web apps. Then drilling down on some specific more advanced features of the solution, and ending this series talking about monitoring and tips and tricks on troubleshooting. For each of the topics mentioned here, it will be a good combination of presentations sharing real life examples where possible and mixing with lots of demos.
I hope you enjoy watching the video, you’ll learn from it, and getting enthusiastic about Azure in general and more specific, Azure web apps. And again, don’t hesitate reaching out in case of any questions.
