Abstract

This chapter discusses the technique of neutron topography. Important differences between neutron and X-ray topography are noted and ways to optimize neutron topographs by using different instrumentation and neutron-beam characteristics are considered. Using neutron topography to investigate heavy crystals, magnetic domains and magnetic phase transitions is described. This chapter is also available as HTML from the International Tables Online site hosted by the IUCr.
