Structure of Higher Education System
Description
The higher education system consists of universities, colleges and polytechnics operating in the public sector. There are several private organizations, overseas and regional institutions that deliver tertiary-level programmes. Most of these institutions are relatively small and are affiliated to an international institution in delivering tertiary-level courses using a mixed mode system, encompassing both distance learning and face-to-face tutorials.
Stages of studies
University level first stage
This stage consists of three- to four-year Bachelor (with Honours) degree programmes on a full-time basis.
University level second stage
The third level relates to Master’s programmes which are offered either in the form of taught (e.g. MSc, MBA, etc) or research (i.e. M.Phil) programmes.
University level third stage
