Abstract
Kondratieff cycles are defined as regular variations in economic growth and price movements with a periodicity of 50–60 years. Although the balance of the evidence suggests that such regular cycles probably do not exist, this conclusion does not amount to a dismissal of the idea of long-term cyclicality. In fact, it is quite clear that various forms of long-term cycles are an observed empirical phenomenon.
