Shove, Gerald Frank (1888–1947)
Shove was born in Brighton and died prematurely in Cambridge at the early age of 59. A shy, studious boy, he was educated at Uppingham School. In December 1906 he won a Scholarship at King’s College, Cambridge. Among his many friends were Lytton Strachey, Arthur Waley, Rupert Brooke, Philip Baker and Hugh Dalton. He was a member of the select society of Apostles, of which Keynes was one of the leading members.
