Structure of Higher Education System


Higher education is provided by universities and by various specialized technical and vocational institutions. There are both public and private institutions.

Stages of studies

University level first stage

Bachelor's degree

The first stage leads to the Bachelor's degree after four years of study.

University level second stage

Master's degree

This second stage leads to the Master's degree after two years of study.

University level third stage


This stage leads to PhD qualifications which are offered in a limited number of specializations. The course takes up to three years to complete.

For entry to: University

Minimum score/requirement: Passes at credit level in five approved subjects.
