Structure of Higher Education System
Description
The higher education system includes universities and university colleges; professional institutes and pre-service training institutes. Private institutions are currently required to be affiliated to a public institution.
Stages of studies
University level first stage
Bachelor’s degree
The first degree is conferred after four to seven years of study depending on the subject.
University level second stage
Master’s degree
Degree awarded after two years’ study following a Bachelor’s degree.
University level third stage
Doctorate
The Doctorate degree is open to graduates who hold a Master’s degree.
