Structure of Higher Education System
Description
Higher education is the third level (3rd Phumasekar) of education. It falls under the responsibility of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport. It is composed of two types of institutions: universities and institutes that can be public or private.
Stages of studies
University level first stage
Bachelor’s degree
Degree awarded in a large variety of disciplines and normally awarded after 4 years’ study, or longer in medical fields.
University level second stage
Master’s degree
Degree awarded after two-years’ study following upon a Bachelor’s degree.
University level third stage
Doctoral degree
Degree awarded after three years’ study.

Name of Secondary school credential required: Baccalauréat
Admission requirements: Yes
Foreign students admission
Definition of foreign student: Students who are not Cambodian and are studying in Cambodia.
