Abstract

In this chapter, a surgical procedure that combines augmentation cystoplasty (AC) with simultaneous ureteroplasty, ureteric adhesiolysis, ureteric tailoring/shortening, and ureteral anti-reflux implantation was described. The procedure has been named augmentation uretero-enterocystoplasty (AUEC). The indications, surgical techniques, therapeutic effects, and experience from our center are reported herein. AUEC is beneficial for patients with low-pressure or high-grade vesicoureteral reflux (VUR), ureterovesical junction stenosis (UVJS), ureteral tortuosity and adhesions, and/or severe upper urinary tract dilation (UUTD).
