Abstract
Neurourology nowadays gives to patients with neurogenic bladder the possibility to have an acceptable quality of life with low morbidity and a normal life expectancy.
To achieve all these objectives, it is essential to start a rehabilitation program as soon as possible. A prompt and correct diagnostic evaluation and treatment are key points.
A quick start with Intermittent Catheterization: It is one of the most important actions to avoid complications in the short, medium, and long term associated with indwelling catheters.
A strict follow-up program sustained in time is the last and absolutely important key point to avoid or at least reduce complications in upper and lower urinary tract.
Total 13 case reports are presented, 6 with Myelomeningocele, 6 with Spinal Cord Injury, and 1 sequela of ischemic stroke. All of them with uncommon complications showing the consequences on the urinary tract of an incorrect or delay evaluation, treatment, and follow-up in patients with neurogenic bladder.
