In recent years, an interest in technological infrastructures has emerged in anthropology and social studies of science. As infrastructures exemplified the complex systems of contemporary society, they became central to understanding the link between technology and culture (Larkin 2013). Several studies follow the process of design and deployment, with special focus on nonhuman actors and the agency of nature. Moreover, infrastructure has been approached as a symbol of societies’ development. In this symbolic nature, the question of how users learn to operate or navigate these infrastructures has been central to studies in the field of human-computer interaction.
