Metaphor and Edusemiotics
As the science of signs, sign systems, signification, and communication, semiotics is integral to contemporary understandings of education, with both discourses converging in the new field of edusemiotics. Metaphor undoubtedly occupies prime space in this territory, its social dynamics impacting on communication in education, blurring the lines between what we perceive as real and what we consider mere representation.
