Definition

Assessment burden can be conceptualized as the challenges associated with psychological evaluations that may have deleterious effects on the assessment process and the integrity of data in research settings.

Introduction

The assessment of eating disorders is challenging given the range and severity of eating psychopathology and associated symptoms, as well as resources required by patients, clinicians, and researchers. In order to reduce assessment burden, it is critical to identify factors that impact the assessment process and consider strategies to enhance measurement accuracy, clinical utility, and therapeutic rapport.
