This park is located on the western coast of Newfoundland in eastern Canada, and it has a core protection area of 1,805 km2. It provides a rare example of the process of continental drift, and rocks of the deep oceanic crust and the mantle are exposed. Recent glacial action has resulted in spectacular scenery, including coastal lowlands, alpine plateaus, fjords, glacial valleys, sheer cliffs, waterfalls and many pristine lakes.
