These are legal documents guiding the development of geoparks. Based on the requirements of the National Geopark Planning Compilation Outlines, the statutory provisions clearly state the required types and quantities of work and the methods to accomplish these tasks. The documents include operational and mandatory guidelines. They consist of 55 articles in 16 chapters: (1) general provisions; (2) nature and development goals of geoparks; (3) landscape assessment of geological heritage; (4) other landscape resources and assessment; (5) overall layout and functional zoning; (6) protection of geological heritage; (7) protection of the ecological environment and cultural landscape; (8) scientific research; (9) commentary system planning; (10) science popularisation action plan; (11) tourism development; (12) information establishment; (13) infrastructure and service facilities; (14) land use; (15) community action plan; and (16) protective measures.
