Frigid tundra climates are mainly located on the shores of the Arctic Ocean in Eurasia and North America and are influenced by the perennial polar air masses and polar continental air masses. The winters are long and cold, and the summers are short and warm. This climate has little rainfall, and it is concentrated in the summer. In this cold and humid climate, permafrost develops, and the vegetation is mainly low, dense shrubs, perennial herbs, lichens and mosses. It is also known as the tundra climate.
