A dormant volcano is a type of active volcano that has not erupted for a long time but will erupt in the future. Each volcano has a different eruption cycle and frequency. A volcano will be classified as a dormant volcano when it has been calm for a long period between two eruptions. Changbai Volcano is an example of this type.
