Darien National Park is located in the borderland near Columbia in DariƩn Province, southeastern Panama. It covers a core protection area of 5,970 km2. Forming a bridge between North and South Americas, Darien National Park contains an exceptional variety of habitats, including sandy beaches, rocky coasts, mangroves, swamps, and lowland and upland tropical forests with remarkable wildlife. The park is also inhabited by two Indian tribes.
