This is a gorge-type landscape formed by regional faulting and erosion of volcanic rocks caused by water. The gorge walls are composed of overlapping peaks and hanging waterfalls, which commonly expose stratigraphic sections. The Mesozoic volcanoes in Zhejiang Province contain many famous volcanic rock gorge landscapes. A typical example is Jingmig Gorge in Yangdangshan. The Yuanyang Stream in Pingnan, Fujian Province, is also a Mesozoic volcanic rock gorge.
