These sanctuaries are located in northern Thailand on the border with Myanmar, between Kanda Buriram, Dae and Uthai Thani. The core protection area covers 5,774.64 km2 and includes almost all types of terrestrial forest habitats. Due to the little human activity, it has become a home for many types of wild animals. It provides shelter for 77% of the large mammals in the region (especially wild elephants and Indian tigers), 50% of the large birds and 33% of the terrestrial vertebrates.
