Volume 1 covers stratigraphy, palaeontology, sedimentology, petroleum and coal geology and investigations. Volume 2 focuses on Precambrian geology, mineral resources, seismology and investigations. Volume 3 covers volcanoes, Quaternary geology, geomorphology, hydrogeology, engineering geology, environmental geology and geothermal energy and investigations, and Volume 4 covers rock mineralogy and investigations. Volume 5 focuses on regional geology, structural geology, structural metamorphic belts and investigations, and Volume 6 covers regional geology and investigations in Beijing and the neighbouring areas. This guide includes field trip guides for more than 100 geological tours for the 30th International Geological Congress that cover the essentials of Chinese geology.
