Stratigraphic correlation is the process of determining whether the stratigraphic units in different regions have consistent or inconsistent characteristics and properties or whether the strata are correlative or not correlative. Stratigraphic correlation is the extension of stratigraphic units or stratigraphic boundaries away from a stratigraphic zone. Please see “Stratigraphic Classification”.
