Blind Valley

This is a landform in karst areas where the river valley has no obvious exit. In this landform, the surface water disappears into a cave at a steep wall near the end of a valley and becomes a subterranean waterflow or underground river. This blind valley landform is often located near the contact between soluble and non-soluble rocks, where streams on non-soluble rock tend to flow into the ground when they reach soluble rock strata (Fig. 18).
