This park is located on the eastern border of Bolivia near Brazil. It is the largest natural park in the Amazon Basin and has little human activity. The heritage site in the core area covers 15,234 km2 and is at elevations of 200–1,000 m. The natural habitats include tropical savannah grasslands, rainforests and evergreen forests of the Amazon. The park illustrates the natural evolution that began in the Cambrian period one billion years ago. Approximately 4,000 species of wild plants, more than 600 species of birds, and endangered vertebrates with global conservation value live in the park.
