These are tourism resources composed of geological sections that have recorded various stages of Earth’s history. They have important scientific research value and form the basic components of various kinds of geological parks and natural parks. For example, the Jixian County Global Geopark is composed of continuous Neoproterozoic geological sections (0.5–1.8 billion years ago) of various ages. The Songshan Global Geopark is composed of five rock strata from the Archaean, Proterozoic, and Palaeozoic Eonothems and the Mesozoic and Cenozoic Eras and has been labelled the ‘Five Generation Sections’. The Dai Mountain Geopark in Zhejiang contains the Golden Spike–Huangnitang Geological Section (Middle Ordovician Darriwilian Stage, 455–460 million years ago). The Luo Chuan Loess Geopark in West Shanxi is composed of the Quaternary Heimugou Loess Section (2.5 million years ago).
