The design of mooring system is a complicated integrated system, including design specifications, sea conditions, characterization of floating structures, hydrodynamic performance, mooring line data, numerical simulations, data analysis and comparison, etc.

An industry widely recognized positioning system analysis specification and standard is an indispensable important reference in the entire design process. The specification mainly introduces the function, form, design, and analysis method of the floating structure positioning system and gives the corresponding design criteria. At present, there are four main types of analysis specification for mooring system commonly used worldwide:
