Introduction
Selective oxidation as an essential transformation possessing plays an important role in chemicals and intermediates synthesis to obtain high added-value oxygenated products or the required intermediates for many industrial chemicals and organic polymers. Moreover, selective oxidation also has a great impact on the environmental and green chemistry, e.g., oxidative desulfurization of fuels. During the last two or three decades, there has been a significant development in selective oxidation involving noble and non-noble metal-based catalysts, different reaction media, homogeneous or heterogeneous reaction systems, and others. Especially with the rapid development of green chemistry, the utilization of green solvents (e.g., water and CO2) instead of explosive or toxic volatile organic solvents (such as toluene, methanol, and acetone) under mild reaction conditions has become a hot topic and attracts considerable attention. Ionic liquids (ILs), regarded as the most...
