Zusammenfassung

Morbus Paget ist eine Knochenerkrankung, die zur strukturellen Schwäche des Knochens, Hypervaskularität und Knochendeformitäten führt. Die Ätiologie ist nicht gänzlich geklärt. Klinisch wird die Erkrankung auffällig, wenn sie Schmerzen bereitet und es zu Komplikationen wie pathologischen Frakturen, degenerativen Gelenkveränderungen, neurologischen Störungen oder tumoröser Entartung kommt. Häufig sind Becken und proximales Femur befallen. Künstliche Gelenke, vorzugsweise als zementfreie Implantate, führen zu guten Ergebnissen, erfordern aber gelegentlich Osteotomien. Die Gabe von Bisphosphonaten ist zu prüfen, um vor allem die Krankheitsaktivität zu mindern. Risiken der endoprothetischen Versorgung beinhalten Frakturen und postoperative heterotope Ossifikationen.
