Zusammenfassung

Die Prävalenz der Carotis Stenosen liegt je nach Alter und Geschlecht bei 0.9%-3,1%. Neben Anamnese und klinischer Untersuchung sind bildgebende Verfahren die wichtigsten diagnostischen Werkzeuge. Der Gold-Standard der Diagnostik ist hierbei die farbkodierte Duplexsonographie. Weitere Untersuchungsmöglichkeiten bei speziellen Fragestellungen bieten die Magnetresonanz-Angiographie (MRA), Computertomographie-Angiographie (CTA) und als invasives Verfahren die digitale Subtraktionsangiographie (DSA).
