Zusammenfassung
Augenbewegungsstörungen können nukleären, infranukleären oder supranukleären Ursprungs sein. Zugrunde liegen können Erkrankungen der zwölf Augenmuskeln, der drei sie versorgenden Hirnnerven N. oculomotorius, N. trochlearis und N. abducens (infranukleär, nukleär) oder der Schaltzentren, welche für die koordinierte Blickmotorik verantwortlich sind (supranukleär). Schließlich kann die Augenmotilität auch mechanisch (restriktiv) beeinträchtigt sein, wie z. B. bei Raumforderungen oder entzündlich granulomatösen Prozessen im Bereich der Orbita.
