Zusammenfassung
Der Beitrag stellt die zentralen Theorieansätze zur Wirkung von Mediengewalt vor und bilanziert die empirische Forschung, die für einen signifikanten, aber geringen Einfluss violenter Medieninhalte auf aggressive Kognitionen, Emotionen und Verhaltensweisen spricht. Es wird auf die Bedeutung personen- und inhaltsbezogener Einflussfaktoren verwiesen und aufgezeigt, welche elterlichen und schulischen medienpädagogischen Präventionsmaßnahmen sich auf Basis bisheriger Befunde als sinnvoll erwiesen haben.
