Zusammenfassung:
Das Feld der Europäisierungsforschung beschäftigt sich mit Veränderungen unterschiedlicher Aspekte nationaler Politik, welche ursächlich auf die Europäische Union bzw. den europäischen Integrationsprozess zurückgehen. Konkret wird analysiert wie sich politische Inhalte, institutionelle Arrangements oder auch die politische Auseinandersetzung durch den Einfluss der EU verändern. Zusätzlich wird untersucht, durch welche Mechanismen dieser Einfluss transportiert wird und unter welchen Bedingungen dieser zu starken bzw. schwachen Veränderungen auf nationaler Ebene führt.

Zusätzlich lässt sich zunehmend auch ein Interesse an Fragen erkennen, die auf die Bestimmung adverbialer Lokalbestimmungen abzielen. Diese Studien analysieren, wo der Integrationsprozess nationale Politik beeinflusst: Wie unterscheidet sich der Einfluss zwischen alten und neuen Mitgliedstaaten? Wie ist dieser Einfluss in auch jenseits der aktuellen geographischen Grenzen der Europäischen Union beschaffen? Dieser Beitrag klammert dieses Feld aufgrund von Platzbeschränkungen jedoch aus.
