Zusammenfassung

Benigne Knochentumoren können in jeglichem Knochen auftreten, wenngleich die langen Röhrenknochen von Armen und Beinen am häufigsten betroffen sind. Symptome variieren nach Tumortyp stark: So sind etwa Osteoidosteome sehr schmerzhafte benigne Tumoren, während Osteochondrome üblicherweise asymptomatisch sind oder aufgrund mechanischer Irritationen von Muskeln und Sehnen leichte Schmerzen verursachen. Enchondrome sind ebenfalls überwiegend symptomlos, können aber gelegentlich im Rahmen von pathologischen Frakturen erstmals diagnostiziert werden. Die operative Therapie dieser Tumoren stützt sich auf die vorherrschenden Symptome, mit dem Ziel einer vollständigen Heilung ohne Folgeschäden.
