Chemical adsorption

Definition

Chemisorption involves the formation of covalent chemical bonds between an adsorbed atom or molecule (or its dissociation products) and the molecules present in a solid surface, such as that of an interstellar dust grain. This strong bonding contrasts with the weaker bonding during physisorption.
