Solar Radius

Definition

The solar radius is defined as the mean radius of the Sun. The currently accepted value is 6.955 × 108 m. This is the unit most frequently used to express the radius of other stars. Note that the Sun is very slightly oblate because of its rotation, by about 10 ppm.
