Russian physician, who ameliorated in 1891 the double blood staining method of Malachowski by mixing one part concentrated methylene blue with two parts 1 % eosin and published the result in 1891 in German in the “St. Petersburger Medizinische Wochenschrift” titling the article: Zur Frage der Parasitologie und Therapie der Malaria (Questions on parasitology and therapy of malaria).
