Malaria Placental Events

During Plasmodium falciparum infections of pregnant woman, numerous erythrocytes bearing developmental stages may become accumulated in the villous space of the placenta and thus may introduce considerable inflammations. This may lead, in addition to other reasons, to Malaria-derived placental insufficiency.
