Echinococcus equinus

This not-well-documented species occurs in Africa and is considered as a “cryptic” species of E. granulosus. However, since tissue cysts were found (e.g., in zebras) in complete absence of domestic dogs (as potential final hosts), it is suggested by several authors that there should exist a wildlife cycle.
