Eastern equine encephalitis virus. This virus is reproduced and transmitted to horses and humans by mosquitoes of the genus Culiseta in Eastern regions of North America and in whole South America. However, during bites of other mosquitoes (Aedes, Ochlerotatus, Coquillettidia, etc.) the viruses may be transmitted mechanically. This virus belongs to the Sindbis-horse encephalitis group.
