Crataerina pallida

This louse fly species (family Hippoboscidae) parasitizes on swallows and related birds. The specimens reach a length of only 3–4.5 mm, possess wings, but are enable to fly. The abdomen of sucked specimens appears greenish (due to ingested, gleaming blood). Occurrence in all regions of swallows.
