Tubulovesicular Network (TVN)

This term describes a system of channels which are induced by Plasmodium falciparum as soon as a merozoite has been enclosed by a parasitophorous vacuole (PV) inside an erythrocyte. This system is involved in nutrient uptake and enlarges considerably the surface of the originally balloon-like parasitophorous vacuole.
