This species lives besides C. chilinae in galliformes and anseriformes birds (house chicken, ducks) in South America. Intermediate hosts are pulmonate and prosobranch snails, while their emerged cercariae encyst in the environment on vegetation. The adult worms measure 2.5 × 0.9 mm (in mean), are elongate with attenuated anterior and rounded posterior ends, and appear ventrally concave. Their dorsal surface is smooth, while the ventral side is covered with scales. Only an oral sucker is formed (0.12 × 0.14 mm) being subterminally located. The eggs appear oval, are provided with an operculum, and measure 19–24 × 10–12 μm. The trioculated cercariae have a mean size of 336 × 130 μm.
