Definition
In the drill milling process, the radial feed of the tool is combined with an axial feed velocity. Though, the milling process is combined with a drilling process. A typical field of application is the circular milling.

Kinematics
The drill milling process is characterized by a parallel radial and axial feed velocity. The radial feed leads to a milling process while the axial feed leads to a drilling process. One widely spread process variant is the circular milling (Janssen 2003; Weinert and Kempmann 2005; Iyer et al. 2007). This process is also known as helical drilling or helical milling. In this case, the radial feed follows a circular movement. The resultant feed follows then a helical feed path.
