Masaru Arai (1952– ) is a Japanese amateur astronomer. A devoted observer of small bodies, he has made an astrograph for automatic surveys and discovered the comet C/1991 A2 and 42 minor planets with H. Mori at Yorii {see planet  (3823)}. (M 47301)
