Roger D. Bourke (1938– ) devoted his career to the furtherance of planetary exploration missions. At the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, he worked on mission design for Mariner Mars (1971), Mariner Venus-Mercury (1973), Voyager (1977) Grand Tour of the Outer Planets missions and the Mars Exploration Program.
